Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

• Your account email address, display name and authentication records.
• Course progress, completed sections, checkpoint results and grades.
• Learning and accessibility preferences you choose to save.
• Purchase, refund and course-access records. Prompt Psychology does not store complete payment-card details.
• Security and operational request information processed by our hosting and authentication providers.
• First-party page-view counts and affiliate-link click context used to understand use of the service. The Prompt Psychology application database does not attach these events to an account, browser session identifier, referrer or stored IP address.

Why we use this information

• Create and maintain your account.
• Provide course access and save learning progress.
• Record grades and course completion.
• Process, verify and reconcile purchases or refunds.
• Provide support and resolve account or access problems.
• Maintain the security, availability and reliability of the service.
• Produce basic statistics used to improve the website and course.

Legal basis

Where UK data protection law applies, processing is based on the circumstances:

• Contract: where processing is necessary to create an account, provide course access or perform a purchase you requested.
• Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, troubleshoot and improve Prompt Psychology, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation: where records must be retained for accounting, tax, fraud prevention or another legal requirement.
• Consent: where a future optional feature requires consent before it is enabled.

Cookies, browser storage and analytics

Authentication uses first-party session cookies that are required to keep an account signed in and protect private course and admin functions.

Theme and large-text preferences may be stored locally in your browser when you choose those interface settings. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can remove those saved preferences below.

Prompt Psychology's own page-view and affiliate-click counters do not create an analytics cookie or local-storage identifier. Analytics requests are sent without account credentials and the application database stores only the page or affiliate context needed for aggregate service statistics. Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals suppress these first-party counters.

Stripe may use its own cookies or similar technologies on Stripe-hosted payment pages under Stripe's own privacy arrangements.

Service providers

Prompt Psychology relies on specialist providers to operate the service, including:

• Vercel for website hosting, delivery and operational security.
• Neon for database and authentication infrastructure.
• Stripe for payment processing.

These providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires an international-transfer safeguard, the relevant provider arrangements and lawful transfer mechanisms apply.

Retention

Account, profile and learning records are retained while your account remains active and afterwards only for as long as reasonably required for support, security, dispute handling or legal obligations. You may request deletion where the law allows it.

Purchase, refund and accounting records may be retained for up to six years where required for tax, accounting or legal purposes. Basic first-party usage-event rows are not linked to an account or browser session and are retained only for service statistics and operational analysis.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Some information may still need to be retained where there is a legal obligation or another lawful reason.
