Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

• Your account email address, display name and authentication records.
• Course progress, completed sections, checkpoint results and grades.
• Learning and accessibility preferences you choose to save.
• Subscription, payment, refund, digital-content consent and course-access records. Prompt Psychology does not store complete payment-card details.
• Live Teacher usage accounting such as module number, section number, request identifier, success/failure state, model/provider and approximate input/output size.
• Security and operational request information processed by hosting and authentication providers.
• First-party page-view counts and affiliate-link click context used to understand aggregate use of the service.
• Account-linked transaction events where needed to provide membership access, resolve billing problems and prevent fraud.

Optional Live Teacher questions

The scripted AI Teacher that presents authored course material does not require your lesson text to be sent to a language model merely to progress through the course.

When you deliberately submit a free-form Live Teacher question in a subscribed module, Prompt Psychology sends the question together with a bounded extract of the current module and section to the configured AI provider so it can produce the requested clarification. Do not submit secrets, payment-card details, medical records or other sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the learning question.

Prompt Psychology's quota ledger does not intentionally store the raw question or generated answer. It stores the minimum usage/accounting information needed to enforce allowances, prevent duplicate requests, troubleshoot failures and monitor cost. The question and response may still be processed by the configured AI provider under that provider's service terms and data-processing arrangements.

• Provide course and membership access and save learning progress.
• Record grades and course completion.
• Process, verify and reconcile subscription payments, cancellations or refunds.
• Answer learner-initiated Live Teacher questions and enforce the stated per-module allowance.
• Provide support and resolve account, billing or access problems.
• Maintain security, availability and reliability.
• Produce statistics used to improve the website, course and purchase journey.

Legal basis

Where UK data protection law applies, processing is based on the circumstances:

• Contract: where processing is necessary to create an account, provide requested course/membership access, process a subscription or provide an optional Live Teacher response you requested.
• Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, troubleshoot and improve Prompt Psychology, prevent abuse, enforce reasonable usage controls, reconcile transactions and understand aggregate service performance, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation: where records must be retained for accounting, tax, fraud prevention or another legal requirement.
• Consent: where an optional feature or communication legally requires consent before it is enabled.

Cookies, browser storage and analytics

Authentication uses first-party session cookies required to keep an account signed in and protect private course and admin functions.

Theme and large-text preferences may be stored locally in your browser. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can remove those saved preferences below.

Prompt Psychology's anonymous page-view and affiliate-click counters do not create an analytics cookie or local-storage identifier. Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals suppress these first-party counters.

Separate transaction and subscription records may be associated with your account and Stripe identifiers where necessary to fulfil and manage membership, investigate billing problems and maintain an auditable record. These records are not used for cross-site advertising.

Stripe may use its own cookies or similar technologies on Stripe-hosted Checkout and Customer Portal pages under Stripe's privacy arrangements.

Service providers and international transfers

Prompt Psychology relies on specialist providers including Vercel for hosting and operational security, Neon for database and authentication infrastructure, Stripe for subscription/payment processing, and the configured AI provider for learner-initiated Live Teacher clarification. Transactional email infrastructure may also be used for account, contract, billing and support communications.

Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires an international-transfer safeguard, transfers are made using the applicable lawful mechanism.

Retention

Account, profile and learning records are retained while your account remains active and afterwards only for as long as reasonably required for support, security, dispute handling or legal obligations. You may request deletion where the law allows it.

Subscription, payment, refund, consent and accounting records may be retained for up to six years where required for tax, accounting, dispute or legal purposes. Live Teacher quota records are retained only as long as reasonably required for allowance enforcement, security, cost control and dispute troubleshooting and do not intentionally contain the raw conversation.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Some information may still need to be retained where there is a legal obligation or another lawful reason.
